The village board of directors approves all collective agreements as set out in the annual budget procedure. The new agreement also includes updated certification requirements for technology specialists, which “must be adapted to current standards” and “a one-time payment of $200 per year of seniority” for professional union members who leave the D97 after at least “eight consecutive years of service in the bargaining unit.” These two agreements will transfer funding and management of the D97 sick leave bank to the two unions – measures that district officials D97 estimates could save up to $33,000 a year, depending on the total number of sick days used. The agreement between the D97 board of directors and the teacher-assistant union provides for a 6 per cent pay increase in the first year of the contract, a 3 per cent pay increase in 2020-21 and a 2 per cent pay increase over the last two years of the contract. 3. At their April 9 meeting, members of the Oak Park Elementary School District 97 Board of Education unanimously approved new collective agreements with Oak Park Education Assistance Professionals (OPESP) and the Oak Park School Assistants Association (OPTAA). The two 4-year agreements are in progress until the 2022-23 school year. The agreement with the Aid Professionals Union provides for a 7 per cent pay increase in the first year of the contract, with 2 per cent pay increases over the next three years. The current contract expires on December 31, 2017. It is the succession agreement. In addition, two union members will be appointed to the district`s technical committee and “will be responsible for planning the professional development of other members of the collective agreement unit.” Wages and benefits related to the agenda item are included each year in the police administration budget. 1. The 6% increase is expected to achieve the higher-than-expected growth rate of the consumer price index and make wages more competitive with market prices.
The new salary structure, officials said, will help the district recruit and retain teaching assistants more effectively. Following the pandemic, a distance learning MOU was adapted for the 20-21 school year. The ACCORD will be concluded at the end of this school year 20-21 or if we return before the end of the year under a hybrid or full-fledged model.
